HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error

Last updated: 17/02/2025

A 500 internal server error is an error often encountered first during website development or maintenance. In 99% of cases, this is an error message that is not on our end, but at the website level. Therefore, if you see this in the browser when visiting your website, the following things should be checked first:

  • Have you not deleted the public_html or private_html folder?

  • Are all files located in the public_html folder?

  • The selected PHP version; this may be outdated. If so, change it to the latest available version, or revert it if your website is not yet compatible.

  • Enable detailed error messages further down your website to determine the exact nature of the error. A 500 error is a general error message that does not reveal much.
